Today is the Last Day to Vote for Denver’s New Sidewalk Stamp Design
DENVER, CO — Denver residents have one final day to weigh in on a new design that could become part of the city’s sidewalks.

Five designs have advanced to the final round of Denver’s Sidewalk Stamp Contest, a city initiative looking for a new design that can be incorporated into concrete sidewalks throughout Denver. Public voting closes at 11:59 p.m. tonight, September 30.
The contest opened to community submissions earlier this year, asking participants to create a design that could work as a physical concrete stamp while representing something about Denver. Submissions closed on July 31 before the entries moved through an initial review and judging process.
A panel made up of city and community representatives narrowed the submissions down to five finalists. Designs were considered based on how well they could be manufactured and hold up in concrete, their originality, how clearly the design could be understood and their connection to Denver.
Now, the final decision is being put to a public vote.
Denver residents and property owners can review all five finalists and select the one design they would most like to see incorporated into sidewalks around the city. Voting is limited to one submission per person. The design receiving the most votes will be selected as the winner, with Denver planning to announce the result later this fall.
The contest comes during a larger shift in how Denver approaches its sidewalk network. The city’s Sidewalk Program is moving responsibility for sidewalk construction and repairs away from the previous property-by-property system toward a citywide approach funded through sidewalk service charges.
Denver currently has approximately 3,140 miles of existing sidewalks. According to the city, 34% need to be widened, while another 318 miles of sidewalks are missing altogether. More than 40% of the overall network needs some combination of construction, widening or repair.
Denver is also developing its first Sidewalk Implementation Plan, which is expected to establish where and how the city prioritizes sidewalk projects in the coming years. The plan is scheduled to be completed in December and will include initial priorities for work beginning in 2027 and 2028.
While those larger improvements will take place over several years, the stamp contest gives Denver residents a chance to weigh in on one detail that could eventually appear throughout that changing sidewalk network.
