Former Rockbar Site Reopens as The All Inn Hotel After $22 Million East Colfax Transformation

COLORADO – A well-known East Colfax property many Denverites remember as the former Rockbar has officially entered its next chapter.

Located at 3015 East Colfax Avenue, the property has reopened as The All Inn Hotel, a 54-room boutique hotel with a restaurant, lobby bar, outdoor gathering spaces, and a future wine garden. The project reimagines the former 1950s motor inn into a new hospitality destination designed for both hotel guests and the surrounding community.

The property was originally known as the Fountain Inn before later becoming closely associated with the Rockbar era, making it one of the more recognizable buildings along this stretch of Colfax. After years of planning and construction, the site has now been transformed through a $22 million renovation led by Brian Toerber, owner of The All Inn Hotel and President of Inspire Investment Group.

Rather than demolishing the existing building, the project focused on preserving and reusing the original structure. The renovation retained several defining elements of the property, including the exposed rock wall, patterned vertical windows, historic porte-cochère, and restored neon motel sign. Those features are now paired with updated interiors, terrazzo floors, sculptural lighting, walnut paneling, and redesigned guest rooms.

Inside the hotel, the lobby has been designed as a social gathering space anchored by All Is Well, an all-day lobby bar that serves coffee in the morning and cocktails into the evening. The hotel also includes FiNO, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and wine garden from Take Care Brands Hospitality. FiNO is planned with a 112-seat dining room, 13-seat bar, 40-seat patio, and 100-seat wine garden. The restaurant is centered around seasonally driven shared plates, a dynamic wine program, and indoor-outdoor dining designed to bring more activity to the Colfax corridor.

The hotel’s guestroom floors continue the property’s historic tradition of color-themed levels, with red, blue, and green floors reinterpreted through updated furnishings, layered textures, vintage pieces, and modern amenities.

Interior design and branding for The All Inn Hotel were led by Abigail Plantier, founder of Maximalist Experience Design and a partner in the project. The design approach focused on preserving the building’s mid-century character while introducing new materials and gathering spaces meant to serve both travelers and locals. The project was constructed in cooperation with the Denver Urban Renewal Authority, the City and County of Denver, the Colorado Historical Foundation, PACE Equity, the Collective Clean Energy Fund, and The Sherwin-Williams Company.

The All Inn Hotel is now open at 3015 East Colfax Avenue, with reservations available through the hotel’s website.
