Dutch Bros’ Denver-Area Expansion Continues With Three New Concepts Approved

DENVER, CO – Dutch Bros Coffee continues expanding across the Denver metro area, with three separate concept plans recently advancing through the City and County of Denver review process as the fast-growing drive-thru coffee chain continues targeting major suburban retail corridors throughout southeast Denver. The three proposed locations include sites near East Mississippi Avenue, East Hampden Avenue, and Leetsdale Drive, adding to the company’s growing presence across the Front Range.

One of the proposals is planned for 10353 E Mississippi Avenue near South Geneva Street. Plans submitted to the city call for the construction of a new 1,025-square-foot Dutch Bros Coffee building featuring dual drive-thru lanes, mobile order pickup spaces, EV-capable parking, and a separate customer walk-up service window. The proposal would redevelop a portion of an existing commercial property near the intersection of East Mississippi Avenue and South Geneva Street.

According to submitted project narratives, the Mississippi Avenue location would include stacking space for up to 16 vehicles, a bypass lane, and 13 parking spaces integrated into the site layout. Plans additionally show enhanced landscaping improvements and pedestrian connections throughout the property.

A second proposed location is planned for 8980 E Hampden Avenue along the Hampden corridor in southeast Denver. Plans filed with the city show a 986-square-foot Dutch Bros prototype featuring dual drive-thru lanes, a walk-up ordering window, and extensive drive-thru queuing space capable of accommodating up to 21 vehicles.

Project materials indicate the Hampden Avenue proposal would redevelop part of an existing commercial site utilizing shared access points and internal circulation throughout the larger shopping center property. Additional documents associated with the proposal reference a projected Q2 2026 opening timeline, although the project is currently listed as inactive.

The third concept is proposed for 7150 Leetsdale Drive near South Oneida Street. Like the second proposals, the Leetsdale concept utilizes a slightly smaller 986-square-foot prototype building while still maintaining dual drive-thru lanes, mobile order parking spaces, and a walk-up customer service window.

Plans for the Leetsdale location show the project integrated into an existing shopping center parking lot with shared access from Leetsdale Drive and South Oneida Street. Submitted materials indicate the proposal would include stacking space for approximately 17 vehicles along with new landscaping, pedestrian improvements, and a dedicated trash enclosure.

All three proposals reflect Dutch Bros’ continued expansion strategy across the Denver metro area, particularly along high-traffic suburban commercial corridors with strong commuter visibility and existing retail infrastructure.

Founded in Oregon, Dutch Bros has rapidly expanded throughout the western United States in recent years, with project narratives submitted to the city stating the company now operates more than 600 locations across eleven states.

All three Denver-area concept proposals have been approved and can now move on to the formal site development stage with the city.
