Hopscotch Beer Garden Approved for Denargo Market, Opening Planned for 2026
DENVER, CO – A new outdoor beer garden is moving forward at Denargo Market, adding one of the first permanent food and beverage destinations to the large-scale riverfront redevelopment in Denver’s River North Art District.
Called Hopscotch Beer Garden, the project is planned for Parcel 1 within Denargo Market, at 3380 Denargo St. The beer garden is scheduled to open in late winter 2026 and will occupy approximately 17,000 square feet of bar, patio, and outdoor gathering space.

A Milestone for Denargo Market
Denargo Market spans roughly 17 acres along the South Platte River just north of downtown Denver and is entitled for up to 3 million square feet of mixed-use development, including residential, office, retail, and hospitality. Infrastructure and public realm construction began in 2023, delivering new streets, plazas, sports courts, a dog park, public art, and more than four acres of publicly accessible open space.
Hopscotch is being positioned as an early social anchor for the district while additional buildings remain in design or under construction. Future phases of Denargo Market are expected to include multiple residential buildings, expanded retail offerings, and continued riverfront improvements.
For nearby residents and trail users, the beer garden represents one of the first places to gather, eat, and drink within the emerging neighborhood, filling a gap until permanent ground-floor uses are delivered in later phases.

Phase 1 Activation Begins
Planning documents describe the beer garden as a Phase 1 activation intended to introduce activity, visibility, and neighborhood-serving amenities to an area that already includes more than 2,000 residential units but limited retail and food options.
The site is located along Chestnut Place between Denargo Street and the South Platte River, adjacent to the district’s Central Green and the riverfront trail system. Approved plans show a modular layout designed to be temporary and relocatable as the broader Denargo Market development continues to build out.

What the Beer Garden Will Include
According to project filings and public announcements, Hopscotch will feature:
Draft beer, wine, kombucha, and canned cocktails
Light bites and a rotating lineup of food trucks
Casual outdoor seating with picnic tables and flexible seating areas
A reinforced heated tent structure for colder months
A turf lawn designed for informal games and pick-up sports, including volleyball, soccer, and badminton
A dedicated event lawn for programmed activities and community gatherings
The adjacent half-acre lawn is planned to host community-focused programming such as watch parties, trivia nights, weekly happy hours, bike-in movie nights, and fitness classes. On-leash dogs will be permitted throughout the space.
Planned hours of operation are 2 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Development and Design Team
The project is being developed by joint venture partners Golub & Company and FORMATIV, with operations led by DrinkDenver. Design work was completed by Sasaki, with civil and structural engineering by Martin/Martin and electrical design by AE Design.
Project documents describe Hopscotch as an all-outdoor venue anchored by shipping containers used for beverage service and storage, along with shaded deck structures, string lighting, landscaped planters, and controlled access fencing. Utilities are coordinated through existing district infrastructure, with temporary restroom facilities provided on site.
