Star Bar Eyes Expansion Into Adjacent Lot on Larimer

DENVER, CO – Star Bar, a longtime fixture on Larimer Street, has submitted plans to expand its operations into the 6,250-square-foot lot next door at 2141 Larimer Street.

Project Overview

The expansion would convert the currently vacant parcel into a large outdoor patio and beer garden with space for more than 200 guests. Plans also include a covered stage for live country and Americana performances, space for rotating food trucks in a “residency-style” setup, and upgraded facilities such as an expanded back bar and additional restrooms. For years, the adjacent lot has been used occasionally for special events, including Rockies Opening Day. The new plans would formalize that use by creating a warm-weather destination, with a focus on live music and outdoor gathering.

Star Bar sits within a designated Landmark District, meaning additional design and preservation reviews will be required before approvals can move forward. No budget or construction timeline has been finalized. However, once permits are secured, the build-out would likely take around three months given the scale of the project and planned site improvements and cost around $200,000.

Developing Denver will continue tracking the proposal as it moves through the city’s review process and into potential construction.
