Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Reveals $135 Million Ball Arena Renovation Planned Through 2028
DENVER, CO — Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) has unveiled plans for a $135 million renovation of Ball Arena in Downtown Denver, bringing changes to the arena’s entrances, concourses, premium spaces and fan amenities over the next several years.

KSE announced the renovation Friday, September 18, with the project expected to be completed in phases in time for the 2028-29 seasons. Ball Arena will remain operational throughout construction, continuing to host Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth games along with concerts and other events.
One of the most significant changes is planned for the arena’s east side. The existing East Atrium will be expanded with a large glass façade creating a new entrance facing Downtown Denver. Plans also call for new escalators and a new team store within the expanded area. Renderings released by KSE show the redesigned entrance opening onto a new outdoor plaza and gathering area.
Changes will extend farther into the arena, with KSE planning to widen entrances, exits and concourses in some of the venue's busiest areas. New point-of-sale technology is also planned with the goal of reducing wait times during events.

The renovation will add three new premium clubs, including one with direct access to reserved seating on the 100 level. Newly released renderings show one of the proposed club spaces overlooking the arena bowl with seating, bar areas and gathering spaces. The $135 million project comes in addition to previously announced renovations to Ball Arena's luxury suites. The first 24 renovated Legacy Suites on the 100 level and Signature Suites on the 200 level are expected to debut during the upcoming 2026-27 seasons.
KSE says a required Site Development Plan for the larger renovation is being submitted to the City and County of Denver on September 18. The project will be constructed in phases to limit impacts to fans and surrounding areas, with the full renovation targeted for completion ahead of the 2028-29 seasons.

The renovation also comes as KSE advances a much larger redevelopment of approximately 55 acres surrounding the arena. That long-term district is planned to introduce a mix of residential and office towers, shopping and dining, a hotel, a mid-size entertainment venue, a central park and other new public spaces around Ball Arena.
The arena itself is expected to remain at the center of that redevelopment, with KSE describing the renovation as an investment intended to extend Ball Arena's role as a major Downtown Denver sports and entertainment venue for decades to come.
